It's set to be an interesting year with lots of change. While things are looking a little bleak on the financial front in regards to public sector procurement, don't let that stop you from planning to make the best of a bad situation this year. 

With some hard work and the right strategy, your approach to tendering should remain as strong as it has always been, and you should take the opportunity to prove that your business can handle the bad along with the good. 

We recommend taking the time, at the start of this new year, to put together a snap shot your strengths and weaknesses, and to create some goals for your business. You should create a plan of action for focusing on your strengths to reach your goals for 2010. 

When approaching tenders, play to your strengths and look for opportunities that will allow you and your business to really shine. There's also nothing wrong with having a plan to work on your weakness this year. When you have identified your weaknesses, look at the ones which are really causing you problems and create a strategy for over coming these obstacles in the months ahead.

A strong business with a good level of self awareness has the best chance at succeeding with tenders in a tougher economic climate so why not start the year off the right way, by creating a snap shot of where you are now, working out where you want to be this time next year, and planning how you will get there.
