A blog covering tenders and advice on tender opportunities.
Going Green
With increasing global recognition of the issues surrounding climate change and global warming, it is important to think about how green your business is.
Governments and countries around the world are committing themselves to lowering their output of green house gases, which is having an impact on their procurement initiatives and how they deal with contractors. Now every spending decision made by Government bodies and local authorities has to have an element of, not only cost effectiveness and value for money, but also environmental efficiency.
Therefore, when tendering, if your business can offer a green alternative, or a greener option then you have a step up against any competitors that don't have greener business measures in place.
Of course being green is just one of the many factors to consider when tendering but it is definitely beneficial to think about whether your business can provide a service in a more carbon neutral way or if you can supply products that are more environmentally friendly. Take the tender contracts on a case-by-case basis, and think about what your business can do to to lower carbon emissions or reduce waste over the course of the proposed contract.
When putting together your tender bid, make sure that you make your thoughts on the environmental issues at hand known, and that any ideas you have for approaching the project in a green manner are clearly outlined.
