Tenders in the Public Sector

Tendering in the Public Sector can be really great for small and medium sized businesses. There are loads of reasons to get involved and find new business through Public Sector channels if you haven't tried it already.

While it may seem like a lot of hard work to secure tenders, there are a lot of benefits that outweigh the hard work that goes into it.

In the Public Sector you are guaranteed a fair deal. As the tender contracts are coming from the Government and Local Authorities there are regulation to ensure that hiring practices are fair, honest and professional.

As a small or medium sized business you also have a good shot at getting the contract, where as in the Private Sector, there is a lot more competition with bigger businesses. In the Public Sector, small businesses are seen to bring benefits to the market such as:

  • Product / service innovation
  • Flexibility of approach
  • Value for money
  • Great level of specialisation

For these reasons Governments are focused on pushing smaller businesses to make their services available through tendering.
