Tender Thresholds
All tenders that are released in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) are bound, financially, to a series of thresholds.
These thresholds dictate whether or not a tender opportunity is released into the OJEU. The European Union stipulates that tenders from public sector organisations and private companies involved in operating energy, water, transport and postal services have to publish tender notifications that allow for fair competition for the contract.
The thresholds themselves are set every two years to be in line with World Trade Organisation legislation, to which the EU is a signatory.
The thresholds were again revised earlier this year, and they now look like this:
